Styles for Less, a retailer of women’s and junior clothing, shoes, and accessories with more than 150 stores, wanted a better way to engage customers beyond email. The company partnered with mobileStorm and needed a strategy to quickly grow its SMS database using mobile as a more immediate and personal channel.
mobileStorm helped Styles for Less launch an SMS program using text-in promotions and paper opt-in cards at stores and registers. The approach generated more than 250,000 subscribers and 700–1,200 new opt-ins per day, with most sign-ups coming from the paper cards. The success of the program also led Styles for Less to expand into birthday SMS messaging and other future mobile engagement efforts.
