London Borough of Brent Launches its Mobile Program with MobileIron Solutions

The London Borough of Brent, a local government in northwest London, faced a rapid increase in employee iPhones and iPads and needed a way to secure devices without “locking down” functionality or blocking bring-your-own-device use. CIO Stephan Conaway sought a light-touch approach that preserved productivity while meeting required security policies.

Brent deployed MobileIron’s MDM to track and provision iOS and Android devices, enforce PIN and configuration policies, and remotely wipe lost or stolen units—while allowing employees to use native apps. The solution sped device rollout, boosted field worker productivity (moving from laptops to iPads), and scaled from an initial 200 devices toward several thousand, with the flexibility to tighten security instantly as needed.
