Automotive Supplier BOS Assembles a Mobile IT Strategy with MobileIron

BOS GmbH & Co. KG, a global automotive supplier with operations in Europe, North America and Asia, had adopted a “mobile first” approach but outgrew its original management platform. With customer-facing staff using a wide mix of iOS, Android, Windows and legacy devices, BOS needed an MDM/MEM solution that could support multiple OSes, block unregistered devices, remotely wipe lost phones and keep pace with new enterprise features like Samsung KNOX.

Working with TÜV Rheinland i-sec GmbH, BOS deployed MobileIron to replace the legacy system. The platform enabled secure Exchange mail, uniform device configuration, AD/Exchange integration and certificate-based authentication and encryption, while supporting KNOX and a broad device mix. A focused evaluation, proof-of-concept and stakeholder engagement produced a speedy, conflict-free rollout, and BOS plans to extend MobileIron to manage certificates and mobile apps next.
