London Drugs, a Canadian retailer serving 4.5 million customers across 80 stores in 35+ Western Canada markets, needed to modernize its loyalty program after customers said they didn’t want another card in their wallets. IT leadership saw the move to mobile as essential not only to drive loyalty but to capture richer, location- and time-based insights into shopping behavior.

Using Mobify and existing mobile-site assets, London Drugs launched the LDExtras app in under six weeks, featuring a member ID barcode, personalized offers, rewards tracking and push notifications built on proven mobile UX practices. The app has driven tens of thousands of active users and about 300 new downloads per week, removing the need for physical cards, improving customer convenience, and delivering immediate behavioral insights for smarter marketing and service.
