The customer, Maxima, a large retail chain in the Baltic states, wanted to transform its in-store shopping experience by making it shorter and more effortless. They partnered with the vendor Mobi Lab to upgrade their mobile app and self-service checkout into a seamless and contactless user experience.

Mobi Lab redesigned the mobile app and self-checkout kiosk interface, creating a touchless payment process where customers scan a QR code and pay via the app. This solution reduced the checkout steps from seven to four and cut the average checkout time from 42.3 seconds to 29.7 seconds, making it 142.2% faster. The project by Mobi Lab also won industry awards for its design and customer experience.
