Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS), a Texas-based rural transportation provider serving more than 120 communities, needed a more efficient and safer way to manage fare collection and trip administration. CARTS turned to MJM Innovations and its EZTransport® public transportation software and hardware solution to replace cash, vouchers, and paper-based processes with a more streamlined electronic payment approach.

MJM Innovations implemented EZTransport with card-based fare collection, web account management, IVR support, and integrated reporting tools that worked with CARTS’ existing hardware and software. The result was improved customer safety, simpler operations for staff, reduced fare-box handling, and overwhelmingly positive feedback from riders and employees; the system also helped families and other approved parties add value to rider accounts to ensure reliable transportation.
