Capital Area Rural Transportation System streamlines service for 120 communities with MJM Innovations

Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS), a Texas-based provider of rural ground transportation, faced the challenge of automating its fare collection and trip management to increase efficiency, improve passenger safety, and eliminate the reliance on cash, vouchers, and coupons. To address this, CARTS recruited MJM Innovations to implement its EZTransport® system.

MJM Innovations provided the EZTransport system, integrating swipe card technology, an online portal, and an IVR system to create an electronic payment solution. This allowed riders to pay without cash and for caregivers to add funds to accounts remotely. The implementation was successful, with MJM Innovations integrating the new system affordably with CARTS's existing hardware and software. The result was overwhelmingly positive feedback from both customers and employees, who noted the program's convenience and the simplification of work for staff.
