Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) needed a better way to manage its Cityride voucher program for senior citizens and people with disabilities. LADOT had been relying on paper scrip and vouchers for taxi and Dial-A-Ride service, which created extra tracking, paperwork, and administrative burden. MJM Innovations provided its TaxiCard® electronic fare payment solution to replace the paper-based process.

With MJM Innovations’ TaxiCard® program, LADOT automated fare collection for Cityride participants, making payments more convenient and secure while reducing fraud risk and driver paperwork. The solution also cut the amount of City staff time needed to process paper scrip and scaled to support 80,000 Cityride participants, making it the largest TaxiCard® transportation payment program at the time.
