Wincanton, the UK’s largest logistics firm, faced safety concerns and rising insurance exposure from driver behaviour across its 1,700-vehicle HGV fleet. To improve driving standards and capture visual evidence for claims, Wincanton selected MiX Telematics’ MiX Fleet Manager solution in 2017, including MiX DriveMate, MiX Vision, MiX 3D and the MyMiX driver engagement app.

MiX Telematics deployed in-vehicle DriveMate displays, driver ID and event video via MiX Vision, plus MyMiX, consultancy and regular reporting to drive behavioural change. Within six months Wincanton recorded clear gains: harsh acceleration fell 57%, harsh braking 85%, harsh cornering 30%, fuel spend 14% lower and MyMiX adoption at 50% — improving safety, efficiency and providing stronger evidence to help reduce insurance costs.
