Vista 4WD Hire, a Queensland and New South Wales 4‑wheel drive rental business serving exploration and mining customers in remote areas, needed an IVMS that combined driver behaviour, vehicle condition monitoring and GPS so rentals met strict mining safety standards. To address this, Vista engaged MiX Telematics and deployed the MiX SafeDrive solution (using FM3306 and FM3707 devices, satellite/GSM communication and the blue driver plug) to provide driver identification, seatbelt monitoring and location visibility.

MiX Telematics, through channel partner Future Fleet, installed the turnkey solution across 30 vehicles and integrated additional hardware and software interfaces for seamless reporting. The MiX Telematics platform consolidated location and condition data into single reports that enabled proactive maintenance scheduling, supported incident investigations with historical data, and gave customers access to trip and driver behaviour reports (e.g., speeding and harsh braking), improving overall driver safety and compliance.
