Viação Torres, a public passenger transport operator carrying about 1.2 million passengers per month, partnered with MiX Telematics in 2016 to tackle high fuel and maintenance costs and to monitor real-time driver behavior. They selected MiX Telematics’ telematics solution (MiX Fleet Manager) to collect the data needed to correct driving mistakes and enforce the company’s quality standards.

MiX Telematics, implemented via channel partner Rotagyn, deployed MiX Fleet Manager reading vehicle CAN bus data, providing second-by-second reports, driver ID keys, rankings and coaching tools to detect and correct poor driving as it happens. The MiX Telematics solution delivered measurable impact: a 12% reduction in fuel costs, a 30% reduction in maintenance costs, a 10% increase in component life, reduced idling, and improved safety and passenger comfort.
