Stabilised Pavements of Australia - Customer Case Study

Stabilised Pavements of Australia (SPA), Australasia’s largest pavement stabilisation contractor with a 180-vehicle fleet, was struggling with speeding, harsh driving, driver fatigue, rollovers and high repair costs. To improve safety, compliance with fatigue and Chain of Responsibility rules, SPA engaged channel partner Airco Auto Instruments to deploy MiX Telematics solutions including the 2310i and FM37 series in-vehicle units, MiX Fleet Manager, MyMiX driver app and MiX Vision in-cab cameras.

MiX Telematics’ telematics and camera suite provided real-time tracking, trip and driver-hours data, driver identification and behavior monitoring, allowing SPA to target speeding, harsh braking and improper equipment use. The program delivered measurable results — about a 45.5% reduction in speeding and a 35.1% reduction in harsh braking over 12 months, a 20% drop in incidents, and more than $100k per year saved on insurance — savings SPA reinvested to expand MiX Vision across the fleet.
