SAV, a Spain-based waste management company providing street cleaning, waste collection and related services, needed to reduce the environmental impact of its trucks and street sweepers and cut fuel costs. They engaged MiX Telematics (through channel partner Chip2Chip) to deploy MiX Fleet Manager with the RIBAS add-on to collect vehicle and driver data and establish baseline driving behaviour.

MiX Telematics implemented the solution, ran an initial no-visibility baseline, trained drivers on safer, more efficient techniques, and provided ongoing local support via Chip2Chip. The program delivered measurable results: a 12% reduction in fuel expenses, a 400-tonne reduction in CO2 from lateral loading systems in Valencia, a return on investment within six months, and increased overall fleet efficiency and recognition for sustainability.
