Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW) of Oman, which operates a fleet of 400 vehicles while supplying potable water to over 1.5 million people, faced unsafe driving, frequent speeding fines, high maintenance costs and excessive fuel use. To improve fleet safety, reduce costs and strengthen management control, PAEW engaged MiX Telematics and its FM Tracer fleet management solution.

MiX Telematics deployed FM Tracer in phases beginning mid‑2013 (281 vehicles fitted to date), using GPS/GSM/GPRS tracking, trip replays and driver monitoring to enable coaching and real‑time control. Within three months PAEW saw sharp reductions in over‑speeding, unfastened seat‑belt incidents and harsh braking, along with lower crash rates, reduced maintenance costs and decreased fuel consumption.
