Pindulo VDM gains greater control of their fleet with MiX Telematics

Pindulo VDM, a South African road-freight operator, wanted greater control of its 196-vehicle fleet to improve driver performance, safety and utilisation. In December 2018 they partnered with MiX Telematics and deployed the premium MiX Fleet Manager telematics platform along with MiX Vision (and MiX Vision Bureau), MiX Track and React monitoring and vehicle recovery services.

MiX Telematics’ combined solution delivered rapid, measurable improvements: overall exception-based driving events fell almost 50% in nine months, with over-speeding (>100 km/h and >90 km/h) down 92% and 99% respectively and excessive idling down 39%, helping reduce fuel use and risk. The MiX Vision Bureau service cut poor driving incidents by 83% (driver distraction down 70%, no-seat-belt incidents down 71%, and camera faults/tampering down 89%), giving Pindulo VDM clearer insights, safer drivers and stronger fleet control.
