Mpatamacha Game Capture - Customer Case Study

Mpatamacha Game Capture, a Vaalwater-based game capture and transport company with 18 large trucks, needed to reduce rising fuel costs and ensure its specially configured vehicles were reliably maintained for safe, timely movement of live animals. To address these challenges they engaged MiX Telematics for a Fleet Management solution with CAN bus integration and on‑board computers.

MiX Telematics, via channel partner Carrus Fleet Management, installed on‑board units, CAN bus interfacing, online reporting and analytics, service/licence reminders and Beame stolen‑vehicle units, plus an onsite refuelling station; trucks were fitted within two weeks and reporting began immediately. As a result Mpatamacha achieved an average fuel improvement of 0.64 km/l per truck (comparing 2014 to 2013 periods) and reports savings of about R10,000 per month per truck, along with faster driver assistance and improved maintenance compliance.
