Mader Group, a global leader in mobile and fixed plant equipment maintenance serving mining and civil clients, needed better visibility of driving behaviour, accurate vehicle location at all times, reliable communication with drivers in remote areas, and tools to monitor and reduce risky driving. After outgrowing their previous telematics, Mader Group selected MiX Telematics and its MiX 4000 onboard computer (with Iridium satellite connectivity), panic alert button and the MyMiX app to meet these safety and compliance requirements.

MiX Telematics installed MiX 4000 with satellite voice/data, panic alerts and customised MyMiX pre-start checks, plus monitoring for speeding, harsh events and rollovers. Over a nine-month period MiX Telematics’ solution helped reduce speeding from 5 to about 1 occurrence per 1,000 km and cut the crash rate to zero, earned industry recognition, and prompted Mader Group to continue rolling the technology out across the remainder of their fleet.
