Case Study: DS Smith achieves safer, more efficient fleet with MiX Telematics' MiX Fleet Manager and RIBAS Display

DS Smith, the UK’s largest paper and cardboard recycler, wanted to improve fleet safety and efficiency, reduce costs and benchmark driver performance. To meet these goals they partnered with MiX Telematics and deployed the MiX Fleet Manager solution with RIBAS Display and driver identification across their HGV fleet.

MiX Telematics rolled the solution out in two phases to 101 vehicles across nine depots, pairing in-cab RIBAS visual feedback, personalised driver scoring, driver workshops and the MyMiX app. Within six months DS Smith saw clear gains — harsh acceleration down 36%, harsh braking down 26%, excessive idling down 92% and over-revving down 83% — with every depot exceeding the 95% target, and ongoing improvement supported by MiX Telematics’ consultancy and MiX Insight Agility reporting.
