ITA Transportes reduces fuel consumption by adopting telematics

ITA Transportes, a Brazilian car rental and fleet-management company with more than 1,800 vehicles, needed to improve vehicle performance, driver behavior and overall operational safety. To meet these challenges, ITA Transportes partnered with MiX Telematics (with a pilot implemented by Rotagyn) and selected the MiX Fleet Manager telematics solution to provide vehicle tracking, CAN‑bus monitoring and driver identification.

MiX Telematics implemented MiX Fleet Manager to monitor rotation, braking, clutch and fuel parameters, manage maintenance schedules and send driver alerts. The deployment delivered measurable results: about an 18.4% reduction in fuel consumption, a 40% cut in maintenance/operating costs, a 90% decrease in clutch interventions, and improved driver focus and fleet safety.
