Fonterra Milk Collection, the New Zealand–based dairy cooperative that collects billions of litres of milk each year, needed to improve the safe operation of heavy vehicles on public roads and farm tracks, boost milk‑collection and truck performance, proactively manage reliability in challenging environments, and oversee more than 1,500 drivers. To meet these goals Fonterra selected the MiX Telematics fleet management solution.

MiX Telematics, working with channel partner Vehicle Technologies, rolled out its solution—installing the initial system in 440 trucks in just over two months—and delivered measurable safety and performance gains. Fonterra recorded a significant reduction in high‑speed incidents and rollovers, saw drivers gain public recognition for safer driving, and improved national driver scores from 92.3% (across 1,400 drivers) to 99.3% across 1,500+ drivers; driver reporting also resolved over 98% of complaints in favour of drivers, helping lower total cost of ownership and boost fleet reliability.
