Fergusons Transport, part of the Fergusons (Blyth) Group and operating a 90-vehicle fleet in the UK, needed better control over driver and vehicle performance to reduce traffic violations, handle investigations and customer disputes, and get a handle on fuel usage and monthly fuel bills while meeting time-critical pickup and delivery commitments. To address these challenges they engaged MiX Telematics and deployed the FM 300 Communicator with FM Web reporting to support their customer-specific fleet-management requirements.
MiX Telematics installed the FM 300 Communicator across 90 vehicles (with FM Web and FM Professional access) and rolled out Active Tracking 24/7—displayed on plasma screens in the transport office and reception—and trained around 20 staff to use the system. As a result Fergusons can proactively manage monthly fuel costs, improve fleet utilization and reliably meet on‑time delivery windows; MiX Telematics notes that its Fleet Manager solutions typically deliver fuel savings of approximately 10%, while Fergusons report significantly improved vehicle visibility and operational control.
