CGG, a global oil, gas and mining exploration company with a 600-vehicle fleet, needed better visibility over remote “missions” and a way to reduce accidents by tracking vehicle location and driver behaviour. To meet this challenge CGG selected MiX Telematics’ Fleet Manager telematics solution (originally deployed as Siemens VDO FM200) to provide real-time tracking, speed monitoring and driver behaviour data.

MiX Telematics deployed MiX Fleet Manager across CGG’s entire fleet, integrating with existing data systems and working with partner SIRAC to support implementation and driver development programmes. The solution lets CGG monitor positions, speeds and incidents of harsh braking/acceleration; as a result, CGG reports an effectively zero accident rate for several years, improved driver focus and a measurable reduction in driving-related risk.
