A.W. Lumb, an independent family-owned builders’ merchant operating two depots in the UK with a 25-vehicle fleet, needed complete visibility of its vehicles to support tight planning, scheduling and accurate spot decisions. MiX Telematics implemented MiX Fleet Manager with on‑board computers, live and historical tracking and automated MiX Insight reports, giving the business real‑time location, trip history and fuel-use analytics. The solution enabled an “AM first delivery” service (confirming deliveries before 8am), helped recover minimal downtime on breakdowns, and saved A.W. Lumb over £2,000 in a legal dispute by proving a false claim—while ongoing fuel reports improve route and vehicle allocation decisions.
