ASD Metals - Customer Case Study

ASD Metals, the largest mill-independent metal stockholder and distributor in the UK and Ireland (operating around 14 depots and a fleet of about 107–110 lorries), needed better visibility of vehicle location and availability to give customers accurate delivery times and improve operational efficiency. To solve this, ASD evaluated telematics providers and selected MiX Telematics for a GPS-based track-and-trace solution using MiX Fleet Manager and the Fleet Management with RIBAS Display offering.

MiX Telematics installed real‑time and historical tracking, email alerts and the RIBAS driver‑monitoring units (with on‑board visual feedback) across ASD’s fleet in a matter of weeks, with depot screens and mobile access for staff. The MiX Telematics solution enabled faster, more accurate customer communications, reduced waiting time for clients, supported targeted driver training to improve safety and fuel use, and helped ASD build tighter customer relationships across its 107‑vehicle operation.
