ZfP Südwürttemberg, a major psychiatric care provider in Südwürttemberg, Germany operating 157 buildings, faced a failing legacy building management system that could not handle ~15,000 data points, 500 overview displays or timely data analysis; software updates and HTML5 development were frozen, causing delayed insights and frequent emergency meetings. Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions’ GENESIS64 HMI/SCADA, together with Hyper Historian and KPIWorX and implemented by MESALOGIC, centralized control from ZfP’s Bad Schussenried headquarters, linked 130 BACnet controllers to 15,000 data points, and provided web/mobile access with 500+ real-time displays. The one-step migration (initially covering 127 buildings) delivered seamless visualization, improved alarm management, drag-and-drop dashboards, an SQL-backed asset book with automated notifications, and better energy/process analysis—transforming a faulty legacy system into a scalable, modern building management platform.
