A Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions Case Study
VIA University, a Danish institution consolidated to 18 sites serving 25,000 people across 238,000 m², needed a cost‑effective, open building management solution to support new 37,000 m² (Aarhus N) and 47,000 m² (Aarhus C) campuses, ensure occupant comfort, simplify operations and lower operating costs. Working with system integrator Balslev Automation A/S, VIA selected Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions and its ICONICS GENESIS64 HMI/SCADA suite plus AlarmWorX™64 for an open, standards‑based approach.
Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented GENESIS64 connected to WAGO PLCs via OPC and integrated alarm, fire, access control, UPS and cooling systems, managing about 15,000 tags across the campuses. The deployment simplified operations, reduced complexity and delivered measurable annual operational cost savings, while giving VIA the open‑system flexibility to choose future suppliers and expand to additional facilities.
