VEC Technology, LLC - Customer Case Study

VEC Technology, LLC, a custom composite manufacturer serving OEMs (including Larson Boats), needed a future-proof HMI/SCADA and data-bridging solution to control and monitor its patented closed-mold manufacturing cells. The company required web-based access, native OPC connectivity, SQL Server historical logging, 3D CAD visualization and the ability to manage roughly 1,200 tags per molding station. VEC selected Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions and deployed ICONICS GENESIS64 along with BridgeWorX, ReportWorX, OPC Server and WebHMI.

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions integrated GENESIS64 with existing Modicon PLCs, Delta RMC controllers, sensors and product databases across four servers and 16 clients, delivering rich 3D visualizations, single-database logging and native SQL Server read/write. The deployment eliminated many custom VBA scripts, improved operator experience, supports the required 1,200 tags per station and reduced operational maintenance staff from eight to two, while enabling future paperless quality-data capture.
