A Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions Case Study
The University of Pennsylvania engaged Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions to replace an obsolete campus control system and deploy a unified HMI/SCADA for 120 buildings (nearly 14 million sq ft). Penn selected Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions’ GENESIS64 HMI/SCADA suite to give its centralized Operations Control Center (OCC) visibility and control over HVAC, chiller plants, electrical substations, lighting and space conditions while providing system-level redundancy and supporting phased deployment in occupied buildings.
Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented GENESIS64 across the campus, delivering centralized alarms, remote fault remediation and built-in redundancy to maximize uptime. The solution now monitors 120 buildings (~14M sq ft), enables operators to quickly identify and address equipment issues (reducing time and labor), accelerates scalable deployment, improves energy efficiency and helps protect the integrity of Penn’s critical research facilities.
