A Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions Case Study
The University of Bristol, a major UK campus with over 370 buildings and 25 academic schools, needed a secure, future‑proof, centralized Building Management solution to integrate BMS, fire monitoring, critical alarms and sustainability data across its estate. To meet these goals—including reducing carbon emissions and cutting training and maintenance overhead—the University engaged Cougar Automation Ltd alongside Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions and deployed the ICONICS GENESIS64™ visualization platform.
Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented a GENESIS64™‑based Secure Data Network with a calendar scheduler for Trend IQ2/IQ3 BACnet controllers and open integrations (OPC, SNMP, Web Services, OLEDB). The web‑based interface and Workbench64 remote configuration enabled multi‑site collaboration, reducing engineering costs and speeding delivery, while centralized alarm management with automatic priority handling delivered 24/7 critical monitoring; the result was lower training and maintenance costs, campus‑wide accessibility and a scalable platform ready to extend to security and sustainability initiatives.
