A Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions Case Study
The Pentagon, the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Defense, faced the challenge of connecting and monitoring its vast array of building systems, including HVAC, fire, security, and lighting. They required a solution that could process over half a million data points and allow operators to access any system on any floor in three actions or less. Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions was selected to provide its GENESIS HMI/SCADA software suite for this critical renovation project.
Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented a solution using cascading pop-up menus over an aerial graphic of the building, enabling quick navigation and control from a single dashboard. The system allows for collaborative analysis on large wall-mounted displays and proved its critical value by enabling remote commands to contain smoke on 9/11. This created one of the world's most extensive and secure building control systems, successfully meeting the Pentagon's rigorous operational requirements.
