A Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions Case Study
The Department for Business, Innovation & Skills, Swindon, UK needed to unify fragmented property and facilities data across dozens of partner organisations and some 180 buildings to support evidence‑based estate rationalisation and carbon‑footprint reduction. They engaged Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions to run an Azure‑hosted proof of concept using GENESIS64 and a Data Capture Management (DCM) approach to provide a single “view of truth” for occupancy, energy, meter, lease and financial datasets.
Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented an Azure‑hosted GENESIS64 solution (leveraging Azure Table storage and Event Hub) with dashboards and a web upload interface that consolidate over 70 data types and allow drill‑down by building. As a result, the Property Asset Management team can prioritise under‑utilised and energy‑inefficient sites across 180 buildings; time spent on data collation is projected to fall from about 75% to 15–20% (freeing roughly 55–60% of resources), the solution is expected to save the equivalent of at least one full‑time employee per year, and the platform is scalable for wider Central Government rollout.
