The Ceramic Factory - Customer Case Study

The Ceramic Factory, a growing brick and construction materials supplier in Botevgrad, Bulgaria, needed better visualization, control and reporting for its furnaces and brick transport line while integrating with existing VIPA PLCs (~150 I/O), a KEP OPC Server for Siemens PLCs, Microsoft Access and Windows XP desktops/servers. Working with channel partner ATICS, Ltd and integrator LogiSoft, The Ceramic Factory selected Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions’ GENESIS32 V9 HMI/SCADA and ReportWorX reporting (part of the BizViz suite) to meet these requirements.

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions’ GENESIS32 and ReportWorX were implemented to provide OPC-integrated visualization, intuitive control and enterprise reporting; the system was installed in six weeks with no additional scripting required. The deployment improved system communications and secure connectivity, cut anticipated internal and external development costs, and expanded reporting options so management can compile KPIs (for example, equipment downtime) and act to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
