Solebury School - Customer Case Study

Solebury School, a 220‑student boarding and day school in New Hope, PA, needed an automation solution to improve energy management and provide centralized control, operation, and maintenance of HVAC and other campus systems. Working with Vortechs Automation, the school selected Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions' ICONICS software suite—including GENESIS32 V9.1, AlarmWorX32, and ScheduleWorX32—to address those needs.

Vortechs implemented a DDC system of ~50 KMC controllers on RS‑485 sub‑LANs connected to the campus Ethernet with ICONICS software hosted in the main server room, providing remote HMI, real‑time logging to Microsoft Access, TrendWorX reporting, alarm notifications by email/text, and custom sensors (sewer backup, occupancy lighting, server‑room water). Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions’ tools enabled centralized scheduling, prioritized load shedding via real‑time meter data, and clear energy‑use reporting—resulting in improved operational control, measurable tracking of total electrical consumption, and reduced energy costs and peak demand.
