A Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions Case Study
Racine Water & Wastewater Utility, serving about 100,000 customers in Racine, WI and processing roughly 35 million gallons per day of both potable water and wastewater, needed a stable, redundant SCADA/HMI system to centralize control, monitor remote tanks, lift stations and pumps, and allow live changes without restarting. To address this, Racine partnered with Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions and deployed the ICONICS GENESIS32™ HMI/SCADA suite (GraphWorX32, TrendWorX32, AlarmWorX32, ScriptWorX32, DataWorX32) with MSDE data-logging.
Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented GENESIS32 across multiple operator workstations and redundant data servers to provide visualization, alarming, historical trending and OPC-based live data updates; the system now monitors over 1,500 tags at the water plant and 1,300 at the wastewater plant (expanding to 2,000+), controls pump stations including a 15-pump lift station, and logs process/alarm data to an MSDE database. The deployment delivered centralized, reliable 24/7 operations with improved redundancy and the ability to add, delete and change data tags online without downtime, supporting automated control of citywide distribution and continued service to Racine’s customers.
