R-CUA, the Urban Heat Networks of Alsace based in Strasbourg, France, operates nine heating and cooling networks and supplies heat to the equivalent of 30,000 households. Facing the need to monitor its Eco2 Wacken plant and city-wide heat distribution in real time, integrate with multiple BACnet controllers and over 2,000 tags, and provide secure browser and mobile access while running on Windows Server 2012 R2/SQL 2012, R-CUA selected Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions—deploying ICONICS GENESIS64™ HMI/SCADA, MobileHMI™, Hyper Historian™ and KPIWorX™.

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented a scalable GENESIS64-based system integrating the plant’s three BACnet controllers, 16 delivery points and 8 km fiber-connected network, delivering web and mobile visibility and performance trending. The solution was designed in a few months with the first application live within a week, now monitoring all R-CUA plants in real time, enabling daily operational oversight, easier optimization and supporting R-CUA’s ongoing network expansion plans.
