Preciosa Ornela, a.s., a leading Czech glassmaker and producer of glass rods and seed beads, needed to upgrade its legacy 32-bit HMI/SCADA to a modern 64-bit system to better monitor temperatures, electrical parameters and combustion ratios across its long, multi-day production processes. To meet this challenge they selected Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions’ GENESIS64 HMI/SCADA suite, including ICONICS WebHMI for web-based real-time automation and visualization.

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented GENESIS64 alongside the existing GENESIS32 to provide real-time visualization, trending, alarming and integrated batch control, connecting to multiple PLCs, Omron and Eurotherm regulators and supporting Modbus, OPC and TCP/IP communications with Microsoft SQL Server archiving. The deployment monitors and controls 4,000 individual assets (3,500 I/O points) and runs on ten local supervisor stations with web access, delivering seamless integration, improved process precision and centralized monitoring across the factory, with plans to fully transition to GENESIS64 and add ICONICS AnalytiX for deeper analytics.
