Poste Italiane, Italy’s national postal service responsible for processing over 7 billion pieces of mail and operating thousands of post offices and employees, needed to modernize its sorting centers to gain real‑time supervision, reduce processing costs and enable new customer services across 23 facilities. To address these challenges, Poste Italiane partnered with Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions and selected ICONICS’ GENESIS32 HMI/SCADA suite and BizViz manufacturing‑intelligence/visualization tools (including GraphWorX32, TrendWorX32, AlarmWorX32, DataWorX32, PortalWorX, ReportWorX, BridgeWorX and MobileHMI).

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented an integrated, real‑time solution connecting sorting, address recognition, material handling, weighing/packaging, SAP, RFID and legacy systems to deliver role‑based dashboards, configurable KPIs, automated reporting and mobile alerts. The phased rollout across all 23 centers improved visibility and collaboration, enabled faster decision‑making, reduced processing costs and raised business process automation from roughly 40% toward a target of over 85%, while supporting expanded services for Poste Italiane’s nationwide operations.
