PGT Industries, a leading U.S. manufacturer of impact‑resistant windows and doors, faced a projected capacity shortfall at its North Venice, Florida plant and had planned a capital expansion. To validate whether expansion was necessary, PGT engaged Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions and deployed ICONICS Productivity Analytics along with the GENESIS32 HMI/SCADA suite and complementary modules to analyze Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) on its critical production assets.

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions integrated Productivity Analytics across 12 key assets (linking PLCs, ovens, cutters and other systems) to surface real‑time losses in availability, quality and performance, enabling work teams to eliminate root causes of downtime. The result: increased output from existing assets, cancellation of the planned plant expansion, a shift to five‑day production, and an approximate 20% reduction in labor and energy costs; PGT is expanding the ICONICS deployment to roughly 80 assets.
