Ondrej Nepela Stadium Ice Rink - Customer Case Study

Ondrej Nepela Stadium Ice Rink in Bratislava, Slovakia, is a historic 9,766‑seat “Orange Arena” that needed an upgrade after its legacy SAUTER building management system could not meet operational and energy demands. Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions (using ICONICS GENESIS32 HMI/SCADA, AlarmWorX32 Multimedia and ScheduleWorX32) was engaged to modernize monitoring and control of HVAC, rink cooling, Emax management and skylights.

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions integrated the arena’s systems—connecting 130 DDC controllers and roughly 3,897 data points—to provide real‑time monitoring, Fault Detection Diagnostics, alarm visualization and automated scheduling. The deployment produced measurable results (1,039 monitored alarms, 342 trend records and 134 defined schedules), improved energy efficiency and manageability, and enabled operators to detect and resolve issues proactively.
