Mondi Packaging Paper Štětí a.s., a major Czech pulp and paper producer handling 1,000 tons of timber and producing 1,500 tons of pulp and paper daily, needed to unify and visualize operations across a sprawling facility with over 100 buildings and hundreds of automation systems. To address disparate OPC servers, SAP and historian data, and the need for web-based HMI access, Mondi turned to Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions, deploying ICONICS products including GENESIS32, WebHMI, DataWorX32 and other ICONICS modules.

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented a Technological Information System (TIS) HMI/SCADA that integrated multiple OPC servers (tie-ins to SAP, OSI PI, Measurex, ABB and Siemens PLCs) and provided a homogeneous data-collection engine. The solution uses 20 GENESIS32 systems with 150 graphic screens, ICONICS WebHMI serving dozens of browser clients, and DataWorX32 managing more than 4,000 real-time and 5,500 historical OPC tags—enabling plant-wide real-time visibility on hundreds of PCs and establishing the largest ICONICS Web application in Europe.
