Microgy - Customer Case Study

Microgy, a subsidiary of Environmental Power Corporation, builds anaerobic digestion facilities that convert agricultural and food waste into renewable natural gas and electric power. Facing geographically dispersed sites—many only accessible via satellite—Microgy needed a bandwidth-efficient, centralized monitoring and control solution. Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions supplied the software platform, deploying GENESIS32 with GraphWorX, TrendWorX, AlarmWorX and WebHMI to address those challenges.

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented the ICONICS suite (integrated on-site by Wunderlich‑Malec Engineering over about three months per facility) to provide 24/7 real-time monitoring, historical trending, alarm paging and automated fail‑safe controls, with WebHMI consolidating batch transfers and corporate visibility. The solution cut bandwidth demands for satellite links, simplified later migration to DSL/cable, centralized operations and enabled measurable production—Microgy’s largest site produces enough RNG to heat over 13,500 homes—improving reliability, insight and remote operability.
