A Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions Case Study
Loudoun Water, the Loudoun County Sanitation Authority, operates HMI/SCADA systems to monitor drinking water and wastewater networks and was running GENESIS32 on 15 Windows XP client machines. Seeking higher performance, richer graphics, and faster customization, Loudoun Water engaged Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions to migrate its HMI/SCADA environment to a 64-bit platform and newer client OS.
Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions upgraded the utility to the GENESIS64 suite running on Windows Vista Ultimate (64-bit), leveraging Windows Presentation Foundation, Sidebar Gadgets, enhanced error reporting and User Account Control. The upgrade delivered faster, easier-to-use interfaces, improved security and searchability, stronger 3-D visualization, and an anticipated 30–40% reduction in application customization time compared with the prior Windows XP setup.
