LIIEC Oil Company - Customer Case Study

LIIEC Oil Company, a Large International Integrated Energy Company with more than $100 billion in annual revenue and over 3,000 drilling wells in the U.S., needed a scalable way to monitor oil well performance, production and maintenance across six major oil fields in the Western United States. Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions was engaged to address this challenge using its GENESIS32 suite and WebHMI technology (including AlarmWorX, TrendWorX, Pocket GENESIS and OPC connectivity) to aggregate data from Modicon and Allen-Bradley PLCs and provide web-based HMI and trend analysis.

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions deployed five GENESIS32 systems, two WebHMI servers with 50 client licenses and OPC servers to present ~15,000 I/O tags across the WAN, with GenBroker routing and Microsoft SQL Server for alarm/event logging. The solution enabled real-time web access and view-only screens for management, wireless notifications via AlarmWorX Multimedia and Pocket GENESIS, faster responses to equipment shutdowns, and improved generator energy efficiency through trend analysis—delivering centralized monitoring, automated alarm notification, and long-term alarm archiving.
