Kista Science Tower - Customer Case Study

Kista Science Tower in Stockholm, a 32‑story, six‑building office complex, needed an open, single‑system infrastructure to monitor and control elevators, lighting, HVAC and window blinds across multiple vendors and controllers. Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions was selected to provide this unified automation and visualization platform, using GENESIS32 with OPC‑to‑the‑Core connectivity plus AlarmWorX32 and WebHMI for real‑time alarms and remote access.

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented GENESIS32 components (DataWorX32, AlarmWorX32, TrendWorX32, WebHMI) with OPC bridges to KONE, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric and other systems, and tied a weather station into automatic blind/awning adjustments (three times daily) to reduce heating and cooling loads. The solution delivers real‑time alarms, remote read/write access, emergency blind integration, continuous elevator fault monitoring and centralized logging to Microsoft SQL Server — supporting over 15,000 I/O points, control of 2,400 rooms, 25 network controllers and 18 control cabinets.
