A Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions Case Study
Kazan Metro faced the challenge of unifying control and visualization across train dispatch and control, antiterrorist protection, power and fire safety systems, and tunnel monitoring while keeping costs down and ensuring adaptability and reliable communications. To meet these requirements, Kazan Metro selected Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions’ GENESIS32 HMI/SCADA and DataWorX32 OPC data-aggregation components.
Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented a PC- and Microsoft-based solution using GENESIS32 and DataWorX32, enabling OPC-driven, hardware-agnostic integration with existing IPCs and databases (including Microsoft SQL Server). The deployment controlled costs, provided expansion-ready, off-the-shelf HMI/SCADA functionality, and delivered reliable data communications and role-based visualization at the dispatching desk—allowing real-time management of train movements, station and track conditions, and system redundancies for more efficient, secure metro operations.
