IDRA Presse S.p.A., a Brescia-based leader in pressure die casting machines for automotive and industrial customers, needed a high‑speed monitoring and control solution capable of sampling process parameters at 10,000 cycles/sec and replacing its legacy Orsi Cube system. To meet this challenge the company selected Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions and deployed the ICONICS GENESIS32 HMI suite (GraphWorX32, AlarmWorX32, TrendWorX32 and ScriptWorX32) on each press machine.

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions integrated GENESIS32 with an external real‑time sampler via an OPC server, using TrendWorX32 to trend and route data to a Sybase relational database; each press features dual NICs for LAN/ODBC access, a modem for remote diagnostics, and interfaces to multiple PLCs (over 500 I/O points and ~300 tags). The solution shortened development and implementation time, made customer‑specific customization fast and reliable (allowing up to ~30% control changes without schedule impact), enabled real‑time data access as a sales advantage, and was fully deployed across machines in an 18‑month project.
