A Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions Case Study
Hydrovision Ltd., a world leader in manufacturing Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) based in Aberdeen, needed a PC‑based, open-standard control system that could meet extreme subsea performance, control and endurance requirements and scale from simple to highly complex toolsets. To address this, Hydrovision selected Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions’ ICONICS GENESIS32 software suite (including AlarmWorX32, TrendWorX32 and GraphWorX32) to provide a Windows‑based SCADA/OPC platform for ROVs, sub‑sea tooling and custom tooling applications.
Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented GENESIS32 with GraphWorX32 operator HMIs and touch‑screen control panels, animated CAD-driven displays, OPC integration, alarm and trending modules, and backup video feeds to give operators real‑time status and sequential task control. The modular GENESIS32 deployment delivered 4:1 scalability, faster development and re‑engineering, proven multi‑year reliability, and a maintainable, open system that exceeded Hydrovision’s goals—enabling customer self‑modification of tooling and ongoing support through ICONICS’ OEM Support and Maintenance program.
