A Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions Case Study

Preview of the Deutsche Bahn Case Study

Deutsche Bahn - Customer Case Study

Deutsche Bahn needed a safe, flexible way to wash a wide variety of electric trains without taking them offline, while meeting strict control, visualization and safety requirements. Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions was chosen—deploying GENESIS32 with GraphWorX32, AlarmWorX32 and TrendWorX32—for its advanced 3D graphics, OPC connectivity and ease of use to address the water/electric safety challenge and complex operator needs.

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented GENESIS32 Enterprise with a learning-mode 3D washer interface that adjusts brushes and sprayers, syncs left/right sides, stores train-specific parameters and controls treated non-conductive water. The solution (integrated with Phoenix Contact PcWorX and PLCs) monitors over 1,500 tags, provides alarm management and trending, and enabled trains to be washed under power—improving wash consistency, operator efficiency and saving time and money by keeping rolling stock in service.
