Cork County Council builds countywide water SCADA with Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions, managing 1,000+ remote meters

Cork County Council, the largest county in Ireland, faced the challenge of meeting a new EU energy consumption directive while needing to efficiently calculate water usage across its vast network of district metering areas. They partnered with Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions to upgrade their existing GENESIS32 system to GENESIS64, which needed to integrate with several legacy non-Mitsubishi Electric SCADA solutions.

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented a solution using their GENESIS64 and AnalytiX products, which seamlessly integrated the various systems and leveraged Bing Maps for a county-wide visualization. This provided the council with a single view to access charts and reports for any meter. The solution automated data collection from over 1,000 remote meters, enabling accurate calculation of water usage for each district and helping the council work towards its energy reduction goals.
