City of Lubbock Water Utilities Department - Customer Case Study

The City of Lubbock Water Utilities Department, serving a drought-prone, rapidly growing community in the Texas panhandle, needed a scalable SCADA solution to manage multiple water sources, treatment plants, well-fields and distribution systems while delivering reliable monitoring, alarming, trending and reporting. Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions (installed in partnership with systems integrator Wunderlich‑Malec) provided the GENESIS32 suite—including WebHMI, TrendWorX32, ReportWorX32 and AlarmWorX32—to meet those requirements.

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented a Web-enabled HMI/SCADA system with OPC connectivity to plant PLCs and radio telemetry for distribution data, plus custom operator consoles. The deployment centralized control and real-time visibility across water and wastewater facilities, enabled faster identification and response to critical issues (reducing downtime and operational costs), and delivered robust trending and reporting to support data-driven decisions and a new reclamation process. Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions’ solution is now integral to Lubbock’s efficient water management.
